THE SEASON WE’RE LIVING IN RaJean Vawter 1 Chronicles 12:32 – In a listing of David’s army at Hebron. . . . . . Of the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do. . . They understood the season they were living in and what to do in that season. We must be the same way. So, what season are we in? First of all, we need to realize that, according to Daniel 2:20-22, there are appointed times set by God. When these times (seasons) happen, there are things that we need to know about and be able to accurately interpret because these particular seasons cannot be altered. When God sets a time, things will occur exactly the way God ordained. The only thing man can do is to hasten, delay or diminish the prophecy. Examples of when people understood their times are:
Examples of when people did not understand their times:
In each season so ordained by God, He looks for the people with whom He has a relationship and lets them know, “These are my plans. I want you to know what they are so you can cooperate with Me during this season.” So again I ask, what season are we in? We know we’re in the last of the last days which began in 1948 when Israel became a nation in a day. In 1967 when the city of Jerusalem was once again miraculously back in the hands of the Jews, the times of the Gentiles began to close. First the natural, then the spiritual. That is the date Time magazine dated as the beginning of the Jesus movement. Gentiles weren’t the only ones who came into the Kingdom of God at that time. Almost every believing Jewish leader in the world today recognized that Jesus is their Messiah through that movement, in that season, and the numbers of Messianic believers has been growing exponentially ever since. Currently, this is especially true in Israel. In May of this year (2008) it was 60 years (6 days) since Israel was returned to their homeland, 40 years since they re-claimed Jerusalem. These are significant numbers which I won’t go into now. Suffice it to say that we are in the last of the last days. In Mark 13 Jesus said that in the latter days there would be wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, famines and troubles. Then He made an interesting statement. He said, “These are the beginnings of birth pangs.” (vs. 8) Some Bibles use the word sorrows but in the Greek the word is literally birth pangs. Matthew 24:8 says the same thing. So, let’s look at this matter of birth pangs. The standard process of birth pains comes in three stages:
Do we see this played out in scripture? Yes, in the story of the delivery of Israel from Egyptian bondage. Moses understood the times he was living in. He was Israel’s midwife. He tried to deliver the “baby” before it was due and God stopped him. When God gave him the right timing, God literally called Israel “My son, My firstborn.” (Exodus 4:22) Moses made prophetic proclamations about natural disasters that began the birth pangs for the delivery of the people.
8 – 10 – From this point on, the pushing for delivery took place. 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 tells us, for those who, no matter what is continually shown to them, when they do “not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved,” it says, “And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie.” In other words, there is a point of no return for people even before they die and God uses them to fulfill His times and seasons. They have many, many opportunities to not be so used. Many of the Egyptians took advantage of this opportunity. But, from the 8th plague to the 10th, scripture specifically lets us know that Pharaoh reached a point where God knew he’d never change. The last verse of chapter 9 doesn’t say that Pharaoh hardened his heart. It says that his heart was hard. No softness left. So from chapter 10 on, through the plagues of locusts (Exodus 10:12-20), thick darkness (Exodus 10:21-29) and the death of the firstborn (Exodus 11:4-12:33) it says that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that they would “know that I am the Lord.” God is always after the people, not willing that any should perish. Interestingly enough, it was before and after the 10th plague that a major transfer of wealth occurred and it was for the purposes of God. (Exodus 11:2-3 & 12:35-36) Also of interest is the fact that each one of the plagues dealt with one of the gods of Egypt. The delivery of the Israelites from the womb of Israel finally took place and the placenta was delivered when the Egyptian army was drowned in the Red Sea. In the natural, birth pangs are the best way to sense the timing of a birth. Before the appointed time, the baby is not ready. America has a prophetic place, a destiny to fulfill. Present day Israel fulfilled the prophecy about a nation being born in a day. Miraculously, the baby has survived against all odds. We are the incubator for Israel. As long as America is strong, Israel is OK. When we are weak, Israel is just as vulnerable as a newborn in an incubator. As we see over and over again in scripture, the whole plan of nations is around Israel and Jerusalem in particular. The book, “Israel: Blessing or Curse” documents what has happened here in America when our leaders have come against Israel. Look how Condoleeza Rice is working right now to divide the Land and tie that in with all the “natural” disasters we’re having. Aside from that, is there a pattern of judgment going on here in America as there was in Egypt so long ago? All the acts of Islamic terrorism against our country in the past are when the birth pangs began. These were attacks on the soil of the continental United States as well as on the soil of some of our US embassies in other countries. 9/11 was the handwriting on the wall when the spirit of Babylon and the shadow government began to rule and the birth pangs became stronger. Like Moses, intercessors have been able to pray the “frogs” away. Even an official with Homeland Security told a friend of ours that they just don’t understand why there has not been a successful terrorist act in our country since then. It’s because of the on-going prayer for protection that 9/11 instigated. After 9/11 many people woke up but quickly hardened their hearts and went back to sleep. When they realized that sacrifice would be required, they went into denial and went to the mall. But, the contractions to deliver the baby of our destiny haven’t stopped. Labor increased when we forced Israel to evacuate land which created refugees, many of whom have yet to have a home or job. Immediately as we did this, we experienced evacuations and refugees here for the first time in our history. However, as with the plague of lice, Katrina caused some people to say, “This is the finger of God,” and realize that God was trying to say something. Then we had Rita, drought, flooding, an unbelievable number of forest fires. There were 1500 within 24 hours after the California judge legalized homosexual marriage alone! I believe we are coming up on a time when the whole nation will acknowledge the birth pangs. This is why, after telling the disciples about the signs of the end times, Jesus talked about the 10 virgins. Now I know that there are various interpretations to that parable but basically, are we going to have enough oil in our lamps or not? Are we going to prepare for what’s ahead or be “sleeple.” (That’s a new word that’s been coined to describe sheep who are asleep.) At what point in the labor process are we? I believe that when the banks have problems, labor is in full force and our banks are now in trouble. Not everyone recognizes this yet but that time is quickly coming – maybe before the end of the year. In the natural, the monetary system is what holds a country together. When Russia ran out of money, she fell and the wall came down. She is now rich with oil money so has once again become “the bear,” attacking nations and threatening others. Our monetary system is based on Babylonian worship. Look on your dollar bill. Yes, it says, “In God We Trust.” But what god are we trusting? Right beside those words is the Great Seal – a triangle with the all-seeing eye, an incomplete pyramid and a circle of light. This seal has been the symbol of satanic rule since the tower of Babel. By placing this seal on the dollar bill, our country is saying, “This is who we are, who we trust. The god of the All Seeing Eye is the god who rules America. Satan wanted a tower to reach heaven so he’d be worshipped which is why God stopped it. That’s why the tower on our dollar bill is incomplete. In fact, it is even called “the unfinished pyramid.” This tower will be completed when the anti-Christ is revealed but until God ordains that particular season of time, it won’t happen. (This insight is taken from a sermon given by Pastor Michael Obi of Cleveland, Tennessee on September 4, 2007) God’s desire is for there to be a separation between His children – us – and the children of the world. But just like the children of Israel, there are certain things we must do in obedience. In the meantime, we must prepare for what’s ahead so we can push without distraction for the baby to be born. And just what is the baby? Is it not the end-time harvest of souls? That’s what it’s all about: Thy Kingdom come. Satan would like for his time to come before the harvest takes place. Our job is to cooperate with God so that the God-ordained season of harvest will take place exactly when God wants it to without being premature. Without understanding there is fear. With understanding there is joy and the ability to go through the rest of the labor and deliver the baby which will be, I believe, America’s finest h
