Mission Statement
|
Gary received Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized when he was 12 years old. He accepted Jesus’ lordship over his life in 1970 and began to walk empowered by the Holy Spirit. Growing up in a God-fearing family, he can’t remember a time when he wasn’t in church on Sunday. He graduated from a Christian junior college in York, NE in 1965, completed a Bachelors Degree in Nacogdoches, TX in 1967, and earned a Masters from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1972. Through church and college experiences, he became a student of God’s Word and developed what would become a life-long interest in foreign missions. At age 55, Gary retired from Texas Instruments in Dallas in 1999. His 31-year career with TI was spent primarily in the company’s employee communications department. Now, he and RaJean have more flexibility in responding to various ministry opportunities. Gary has been active in leadership on the local church level, taught adult education classes for men and mixed groups, led worship, participated in drama ministry and been involved in evangelism and bus ministry. He has co-led prayer journeys with RaJean and has participated as a member of intercessory prayer teams during conferences such as Promise Keepers, Women of Faith, and events like The Call DC. Gary and RaJean helped found Jaipur Children’s Aid, an outreach mission in India providing children of the slums with food, clothing, shelter, health care, education and Bible teaching in a safe and loving Christian environment. Gary was ordained by Glory of Zion Outreach Ministries, Inc. in Denton, Texas, working with International Breakthrough Ministries in Coppell, Texas. He and RaJean now co-pastor a home church in Canton, Texas called TLC (The Lord's Church/Tender Loving Care). Gary’s gift of exhortation and serving is often put to use in helping individuals as well as with spiritual mapping projects and prayer assignments throughout the city, state, nation and world. “RaJean and I are excited about how God is awakening His church to the absolute necessity of prayer in every aspect of our spiritual journey,” Gary says. “It is essential that every Christian fully understand and personally experience the power and potential of prayer for themselves. I believe it’s the key to unlocking all of God’s blessings upon the body of Christ today.”
