GROUND LEVEL SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Through the five doors listed in the lesson on Deliverance we see that Satan has free access into our lives when we’ve opened ourselves up legally for some sort of fellowship with satanic spirits. Once this is done, his goal is to systematically set up strongholds.

Stronghold: Literally, a place of fortification; a system of thinking contrary to the word of God which allows demonic spirits to hide and live and work in our lives undercover. He can do this because we are controlled by what we believe and these ways of thinking are a lie that the enemy has gotten us to believe. Everything he does is raised up against the KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. To do this he uses

to get us to believe a lie. He never uses truth but will use a half truth (which is a lie.) Jesus said, “And you shall know (be intimate with) the Truth and the Truth will set you free.” John 8:32 The Word must be internalized. That’s why I said we’re controlled by what we believe. If we believe wrong, we act wrong. To counteract this we must

1. Pull down every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

2. Renew our mind. (Bible study, Bible reading, Bible meditation, prayer) Romans 12:1-2

3. Bring every thought captive.

Our spirit is communion, intuition and conscience.

Our soul is mind, will and emotions.

The demonic can be discerned by deductive reasoning. To do this, you begin by working backwards if symptoms are present and look for possible causes. Not every problem is a demon. It could be SIN. Or a person could be emotionally ill because of a chemical imbalance. Some people have something wrong in their brains. If Multiple Personality Syndrome (MPS) is involved, it could be something physical or it could be demonic. Dr. Craft’s book, “I Give You Authority” says that the problems are food for rats and he gets rid of the rats by getting rid of the food. That is one approach. Another approach is to just shoot the rat. However, you may need to get the experts involved if you run across a true MPS. Many people who can’t remember their childhood get MPS. If they didn’t, it may be the grace of the Lord and only He should decide if and when their childhood should be remembered.

Always look for the hook. Always ask, “Why is the demon there? Also, always check with the person to see if they are willing to repent and forgive. It is impossible to be delivered of demons without repentance. And unforgiveness is demon food.

Possible entry points:

1. Rejection - either real or perceived. A major problem & difficult to deal with.

2. Victimization - something that causes a life to never be the same. There seems to be a transference from the prey-er to the victim, resulting in nightmares, drug addictions, failed marriages, severe lust, sexual problems

3. Anger - hurt turned outward

4. Bitterness - a root

5. Hatred - better than thou, pride

6. Unforgiveness

7. Deliberate, willful sin, seared conscience

8. Ignorant sin - transference while counseling

9. Witchcraft & occult - must repent, renounce, break curses and soul ties

10. Soul ties - especially with past sex partners

11. Word curses

12. Vows to God that are broken or those said as part of a ritual or blood sacrifice.

13. Generational

Questions to ask or things to look for:

1. Can you forgive?

2. Who is in control

3. Are you helpless over ___________?

4. Do you hear voices?

5. Have you made an allegiance with anyone or anything?

6. To whom or what have you been dedicated?

7. If they say, “Something came over me” - this is a dead give away phrase.

8. Past involvement with things such as:

a. Witchcraft - they were stoned in the O.T. Converted witches know the power of the Light.

b. Satanism

c. Eastern religions - particularly if they’ve made offerings to other gods or a mantra. Must renounce the mantra and all levels.

d. New Age

e. Cults

f. Freemasonry - they curse themselves their families and their churches. These people have trouble with faith especially if they are a first child

9. Does the person crave power and use a great deal of manipulation or control? Such a person is usually dealing with major rejection.

10. Has the person invited in a Spirit guide? This could be an imaginary friend to a child. Or calling on God as George or some other favorite name.

BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT TO ADMINISTER DELIVERANCE

You must be living a life with no known sin and as confessed up as you know to be.
You must be free from demonic oppression
You must have faith without wavering in the power of God to deliver. I once worked every week with a person who had been heavily involved in a cult. She had already gone through a great deal of deliverance but needed much more. Each week God would tell me what we were to do, what she needed to be taught and to understand from Scripture before she could receive deliverance, what she needed to do, how she needed to be approached. But her previous deliverance had been with people who would raise their voices and get very physical. One night she laughed and said, “RaJean, you are so funny. You just sit there calmly and just say in a regular voice, ‘Out in the name of Jesus`. And they leave! It’s incredible.” I believe firmly that we should not allow demons to embarrass a Child of the King.
You must have the covering of your spouse and either your church, your pastor or some spiritual authority. In the late 80’s I was given a person who had been involved in everything listed in the Prayer of Renunciation. She got set free and was so excited, she began to set up meetings with me to meet with her friends who were as heavily involved as she had been. But after a short while, I stopped that ministry because things just weren’t right between Gary and me. I knew our personal problems made me vulnerable as well as the whole family. So I backed off.
The person MUST want it. Don’t do deliverance prematurely. They need to see their need and be ready. If they aren’t ready, then fast and pray until the person is cornered and they want deliverance badly enough to seek it for themselves. A lady came to me one time wanting deliverance. She really wanted it. So I gave her the 15 page questionnaire that Doris Wagner has developed. She diligently filled it out and returned it. I and another person studied it, prayed and fasted and we set up a time to meet with her for deliverance. She came loaded for I don’t know what. In sweats, no makeup (she was a blond) Who knows what she thought would happen. Something wild I guess. Anyway, the process went very slowly because she had so much family and personal background with a cult, living in a truly haunted house, etc. plus both willful and ignorant disobedience. But progress was made and she obtained a measure of freedom in that one 2-3 hour session. But she never came back to finish working through the questionnaire. She told me she was content with the freedom she had and, quite frankly that amount of freedom showed her that if she became totally free of the demonic influences binding her, it would eventually affect her relationship with her husband, her parents, in-laws, etc. It would change her life and she didn’t want to face the change. God will set us free if we want to be set free. But He won’t force freedom on us.
They must be willing to forgive. Forgiveness is our greatest weapon in deliverance.
They must be willing to break bad habits, friendships, etc.
They must be willing to clean their house of wrong artifacts, photos, old love letters with persons other than their spouse, etc.
They must keep close to God by personal prayer, Bible study, and corporate worship. They must understand the need for this type of follow-up.

Demons can be discerned by Word of Knowledge, the gift of Discerning of Spirits, by observing the fruit of the evil spirit, asking lots of questions and discovering word curses.
